Work in Progress

This painting is nearly finished (more or less). It is a collaborative work using a photograph taken by esteemed photographer Clare Bates as a starting point and reference.

This painting signifies a side step for my work, as I am entering new water painting such a subject matter and approaching painting in a slightly different way as a result of the figurative subject. But I still wanted the image to have an abstracted fluidity that my more abstract work has.

I struggled with this at first but am quite happy with how it has turned out now. I enjoyed working big and plan to work big more often.
